A 15-day astrology pilgrimage to the places where the ancient myths and mysteries were born

High on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, the air is still and the stones are warm. You walk the path that kings and shepherds and ordinary people walked for a thousand years to ask the oracle their questions. Somewhere along the way, you realise you’ve already started asking yours. And the land has begun to answer. By the time you reach the temple, Apollo has your attention. He’s no longer the Apollo of your books. He’s the one whose temple this was, and he has been waiting on this mountainside for you to arrive. This is what we come to Greece for. Not just the photographs or the tour, but the chance to meet these gods and goddesses in the places that belonged to them. You move in a small group held with care, alongside someone who has walked these stones many times and knows what they can do.
What this experience is
Sacred Connections is a pilgrimage of soul and memory.
For fifteen days, a small group of us will walk the ancient pathways of mainland Greece and the Ionian islands together, moving through the places where the Greek myths were born. The temples of Apollo, Athena, Demeter and Poseidon. The oracle at Delphi. The healing sanctuary of Asclepius and Hygeia at Epidavros. Olympia. Sounion. The caves, rivers and mountains the old stories belong to.
But we’re not there just to look at ruins. We’re there to evoke these gods and goddesses, to open ourselves to the wisdom held within these sacred landscapes, and to let the land work on us. The Greek gods and goddesses are the same archetypal energies that move through your astrology chart. Your Mars, your Venus, your Mercury, your Moon. The asteroid goddesses too, if you know them.
Standing in the place that belonged to Apollo, or sitting in the theatre at Epidavros where people came to be healed by Asclepius, these archetypes stop being concepts you’ve studied and start to come alive. You experience them in your body, and you feel them awaken in the land.
By the time we reach Sounion on the final day and watch the sun set into the sea behind Poseidon’s temple, something in you will have shifted. You’ll come home knowing yourself a little differently.

- You’ll get a new way of working with the energies in your own chart. The planets, the asteroids, the myths threaded through your placements. Not as concepts you’ve studied, but as forces you’ve walked with and brought into your body.
- You’ll get real time for yourself. Most of us spend our lives looking after other people, holding things together, or showing up for everyone else. Greece is fifteen days where you stop, breathe, and remember who you were before all of that.
- You’ll get a deeper, evolutionary understanding of how the archetypes carry the unresolved memory you came in with, and what they are now asking you to embody in this lifetime. This is the energetic and intuitive lens I bring, and it’s different from a more intellectual approach to the same material.
- You’ll make new friendships with fellow travellers who get it. The group stays small for a reason. By day three you’ll know each other. By day fifteen you’ll be planning to meet up again at home.
- You’ll leave with a body that’s been fed delicious food, walked beautiful places, swum in the Mediterranean and experienced the places you’ve dreamed of.

The Journey
Over 15 days we travel across mainland Greece, the Ionian islands and the Peloponnese.
We move together in our own bus with a private driver, so the days flow easily and there’s plenty of opportunity to discuss our experiences of the myths, archetypes and astrology along the way.
Day 1 // Athens
We arrive in Athens to gather, settle in, and meet each other.
Day 2 // Athens to Arachova, via Osios Loukas
We leave Athens for the mountains, with a photo stop at the Corinth Canal and a visit to the Monastery of Osios Loukas, famous for its luminous Byzantine mosaics. We arrive in Arachova, our base for the next two nights, and gather for our first group talk before tomorrow’s adventure.
Day 3 // Delphi
A full day at Delphi. We begin at the Temple of Athena, preparing ourselves before entering the archaeological site and the museum. The oracle of Apollo, the omphalos – the place the ancient world considered the centre of the earth. Late lunch in town and a quiet evening to share what the day surfaced.
Day 4 // Arachova to Meteora, via Thermopylae
A travel day that is also a sacred one. We farewell Arachova and drive north, stopping at Thermopylae, the legendary battlefield where King Leonidas and his three hundred Spartans held back the Persian army in 480 BC. From there to the thermal baths at Thermopyles to cleanse before our next destination, Meteora.
Day 5 // Meteora
A full day at Meteora’s monasteries, suspended on their towering rock formations. Centuries-old spiritual traditions and panoramic views in every direction. Dinner in Metsovo, a picturesque mountain town known for its food and warmth.
Day 6 // Meteora to Parga, via Ioannina
We drive west through Ioannina, with its island in the lake, historic castle, Silversmithing Museum and the mystical Cave of Perama. After lunch we continue to Parga on the coast.
Day 7 // Parga and the River Styx
This is one of the deepest days of the journey. We visit the Acheron, the River Styx, one of the five rivers of the underworld. Not as a place of punishment but as a place of healing, where we purge what is ready to be released and call on Pluto to support our own crossings. We visit the Necromanteion, the ancient oracle of the dead. Then we have time to explore Parga itself: the castle, the beaches, the town.
Day 8 // Parga to Kefalonia, via Lefkada
We travel to Lefkada, taking in the Dimossari waterfalls and Lefkada town’s Venetian alleys, before boarding the ferry to Kefalonia, where we’ll spend the next four nights.
Day 9 // Kefalonia, free day
This is a day to rest, swim, wander and sleep. The middle of the trip is the moment your body asks for stillness, and we honour that.
Day 10 // Ithaka
We travel by ferry across to Ithaka, Odysseus’s home. We visit the Kathara Monastery, walk through the old town, and have a long seafood lunch by the water.
Day 11 // Kefalonia
A full day exploring my home away from home, often called the jewel of the Ionian. The church and home of Saint Gerasimos, the saint of the island. The Robola vineyard for a private tasting. Melissani Lake, the underground cavern exposed by a 1950s earthquake. The 320-metre St George’s Castle. A photo stop at the famous Myrtos Beach to capture the energy of this amazing place.
Day 12 // Olympia and on to Nafplio
By ferry back to the mainland, then south to Olympia, the sanctuary of the games and one of the most beautiful sites of the journey. The temple of Hera, the stadium, the museum. Lunch together before driving on to Nafplio.
Day 13 // Epidavros and Tolo
The healing sanctuary of Epidavros, sacred to Asclepius and his daughter Hygeia, where the ancient world came to be healed. The 4th-century BCE theatre, with its astonishing acoustics, still standing. Beachside lunch at Tolo, then back to Nafplio for our group sharing.
Day 14 // Nafplio
A gentler day in Nafplio. You’ll make your own Greek pot in a local studio, enjoy another delicious lunch, and visit the Palamedes Castle high above the town.
Day 15 // Sounion and farewell
We farewell Nafplio and drive back towards Athens, stopping at Sounion, the temple of Poseidon, where the cliffs drop into the Aegean and the sun sets straight into the sea. The myth of Aegeus throwing himself from these cliffs in grief, having misread the sails of his son’s returning ship, sits in the air here. A theme of loss, hope and the things that get misunderstood. Reflection time at our hotel before our farewell dinner together in the Plaka.
Day 16 // Departure
We have breakfast together, and say farewell. Some of us continue travelling. Some of us go home. All of us leave different to how we arrived.

About Your Host
Hi, I’m Lisa Jones. I’m an evolutionary astrologer, teacher and mentor based on the east coast of Australia. I’m OPA-certified, the Australian representative for OPA, a tutor at the Forrest Centre for Evolutionary Astrology, and a graduate of the Steven Forrest Master program and Astro Synthesis in Melbourne. I’m also an Australian Bush Flower practitioner and counsellor.
I’ve been leading sacred site pilgrimages in Greece for years. I know these sites. I know the stories. I know the rhythm of how the days unfold and where the magic tends to happen, which is often not where you expect.
My connection to Greece isn’t casual. Pallas Athena sits exactly on my ascendant in my Saros chart. My Sun and Moon line runs straight through the country. I experience the gods and goddesses as karmic, intuitive presences in my own life, not as figures from a book. When we work with them on these journeys, my approach is energetic rather than simply intellectual. We deepen our understanding of how to work with them astrologically, yes, but also how they carry the memory of what was not resolved, and what they are now asking us to embody in this lifetime in a healthy way.
I keep these groups small, because the work that happens on these journeys is intimate and profound. People often experience deep internal shifts when connecting with these places.
One thing I’ve come to know about myself is that creating and holding a group is something I’m genuinely good at. My Sagittarius Sun sits in my 11th house, and bringing people together is one of the deepest pleasures of my work. On these journeys, that translates into something practical: I pay close attention to the group dynamic, to who needs what, to making sure no one feels on the edge of things.
Past travellers have told me the group itself becomes one of the most unexpected gifts of the trip.

Marc Laurenson is an AAT (Accredited Astrology Teacher) with the Federation of Australian Astrologers. He has been awarded the Federation of Australian Astrologers Diploma and received the prestigious Gold Medal for Excellence with his Accreditation.
Marc is a popular speaker on the lecture circuit both in Australia and Internationally. These include FAA conferences, ISAR Conference, London Astrology School, Synchronicity University, Astrology Hub and many more.
His style is evolutionary with a psychological lens and he has a deep understanding of the myths and stories we’ll be exploring. I’m excited to welcome his complementary teaching presence to the group sessions along the way.

It’s a five-day astrology conference at a beautiful resort on the coast of Crete, with Lynn Bell, Maurice Fernandez, Martin Sebastian Moritz, Marc Laurenson and me presenting across psychological, evolutionary and karmic astrology.
The week between the two events gives you time to rest in Athens or explore on your own before we begin the pilgrimage.
A Few Practical Things
- Passport and Visa – Your passport must have at least 6 months validity. Australian travellers will need an ETIAS (it’s a quick online form, I’ll send instructions on registration).
- Climate – May in Greece is gorgeous. Warm days, light jacket in the evening, swimmers a must.
- Travel Insurance is Essential – I’ll send recommendations on registration.
- Cancellation – A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is required at booking. There is a 50% cancellation fee if you cancel with less than 6 months notice. Trips are 100% transferable in the event of a global situation (pandemic, conflict, similar).
